Madam Jayashree, when you took that marriage vows to be with your hubby “In sunshine or in rain” , You really meant it. Felt extremely pleased to find people who can STAND and FIGHT for what they think is right. Whenever I read your webpage I feel humbled. It inspires to replicate it in my own environment, maybe in a small measure. I recall the words of swami Vivekananda where he said that a handful of lions are enough can shake the world. When one Bhagat Singh was hanged it spawned hundreds of Bhagat Singhs to take cudgels against British. I feel that the more these “ Axis of Evil” tries to subdue the good , the more people will join your cause . But I just pray to God to give “Strenght” to you and your family. For we unguided youths(who have false heroes like filmi personalities) really need beacon like you to lead us.

Don’t ever think that what one person can do , don’t ever think that this is leading to nowhere – for the STONE WALL looks (falsely) unbreakable until that last blow cracks it open.

Take care and God Bless,

Rohit , Bangalore

Hi, I may have joined thius discussion a little late. but nonetheless what i want to write is still relevant.
The solution is not to go from one place to another in the hope that the new place will be less corrupt. I am currently in the centre and am right now facing what jayashree's husband faced/or is still facing in the state. In fact I am myself thinking of a change of place as it has become almost impossible to stay here. the harrassment of a whistleblower is just too much. however, i feel, change of place is not the solution, change of mindset, of both, the corrupt and the honest. the change of mindset for the honest is to think that we can make a difference by each individual fight and that it is not right to give up the fight. further, the honest need to support each other whenever the ocassion arises.the change of mindset needed for the corrupt is for them to realise that they are not invincible and they are not above law.

Hello,

I am writing on behalf of my parents who are a resident of New Delhi . Last year my father, my sister and my mother on behalf of me booked 3 plots with TDI INFRASTRUCTURE PVT LIMITED (Formerly INTIME PROMOTERS PVT LTD) by paying 3 Lakhs for each flat as registration amount. My family did this investment for some returns but instead our money is totally stuck in this scheme.

We have tried to contact TDI for the updates regarding the contract and details of the property we are going to get but we have not received any response till now. On the contrary, we receive letters for cancellation of the booking. Subsequently we asked for refund of our registration money from TDI but there has been no response. We have been chasing this with TDI for last 1 year but TDI is not serious about the refund.

My parents are old and it is there hard earned money. I am sure there are many others with similar situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I believe this is a fraud and should be investigated. My soul motive to write this letter is to expose TDI in Media.

Currently, I am in United States but I am want to come back to India not just to help my parents but to help other people who are fighting agianst TDI and other fraud agencies.

Thanks,

Sincerely,

Tanvi Gandhi

moc.oohay|ivnat2w#moc.oohay|ivnat2w

Dear Madam,

My heartfelt appreciations and best wishes to you for your fight against corruption .This evil menace has to be curbed and weeded off it roots that is very deeply rooted in our Indian bureaucracy. Ironically, in India we need to shell out money just to make public servants do their duty. Ethics and Values have to be imbibed in children mind right from their childhood. Parents, teachers can help make this happen. We lack civic sense too. No one minds crossing a stop line when one encounters red signal, blocking free flow of traffic. People view such violations as petty ones and give scant regard. A radical change has to bought in our society. contact at moc.liamg|neziticnaidniduorp#moc.liamg|neziticnaidniduorp

Hi Jaya,

You are right..Going for central deputation is not an answer. We have to understand that the officers from state government are selected for central deputation and there is no gurantee that all central government officers are corruption free. Also if it is beleived that those on central deputation are corruption free or are efficent officers than it clearly means that those managing states are either incapable or are corrupt which is not true. The people managing state government should work according to Constitution of India. So Jaya's husban is very right by serving his home state and is fighting against his own corrupt and selfish bureaucratic fraternity.

Bhaskar Kanungo, JNU, Delhi

I have bribed once in my life to a Govt officer in Kerala to have him inspect my parents house to obtain a Corporation approval and address in Trivandrum. I was 14 years old and he might have been around 45 years. It was one of the most painful experiences in my life and I truly felt disgusted. Without paying the bribe, it was close to impossible to get them to inspect the property that was constructed per the corporation guidelines. I am glad that I had to opportunity to experience it at that young age and have never bribed since then.

To your question of fighting bribery in the State level, I agree that going to the Centre wouldnt make much of a difference. I am curios to know if there are other Civil Services employees in IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS etc. that have shown interest and worked towards cleaning up corruption? There is a famous IAS guy Raju Narayanaswamy from Kerala that fought it to an extend. I wonder if these IAS officers can start an initiative to fight against this together? Raju N Swamy I am sure would be willing to assist in this effort too.

I have seen many instances where my peers who have spent years trying to make it to the Civil services become as frustrated as your husband and I am sure they would be interested in working together with your husband and other civil servants towards this cause.

I appreciate your efforts in this cause. Please let me know if I can be of any help. Thanks, Anant (moc.liamg|alarek.tnana#moc.liamg|alarek.tnana)

Most of our citizens are apathetic. That is why our govt is so brazen in shielding corrupt officials and does not
prod our legislators to file their statement of assets and liabilities. The RTI is a weapon which can be used to
force govt to clean up. But I think it will take a few years for the citizens to recognise the weapon in their
hands and once they start using it effectively, the govt will recognise that the common man is the master and
the govt should work for his benefit.

KB PATIL

Dear Madam,
I am a house wife. My husband is working with a R&D set up of Water Resources Dept. of Govt. of Gujarat.
He is associated with the responsibility related to comply the RTI applications related to his offices.
Recently I came to know about a case of a retired class-II officer, who is facing some allegations.
He is about to complete two years of his retirement and very recently his due amount of leave encashment is
released. Now he is fighting for penalty to be charged to the concerned officials for delay and mental harrassment
he has undergone. I am very much impressed, learning your fight for corrupted practices experienced by your husband.
My equal congratulations is expressed hereby to both of you. Actually my husband has inspired me to write to you.
He being in govt. service may not freely approach you to support your fight, but he is interested to initiate your kind
of fight for unable or weak minded people either in govt. or public.

International Anti-Corruption Day on 9 December marks one year since the signing conference for the United Nations Convention against Corruption was held in Mérida, Mexico.

In the last year, over 110 countries have signed on to the Convention and 15 have ratified it. Ratificiation by 30 Member States is necessary for the Convention to enter into force.

India is one of the nonsignatory. Presidents and Governers will only make speaches written by others
and ask others to be noncorrupt. But Why they have not taken any iniiative to sign international legislation?
